An experienced & wise master grew tired of his apprentice complaining. One morning he sent the apprentice for some salt.

When the apprentice returned, the master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and drink it.

"How does it taste?" the master asked.

"Bitter," spit the apprentice.

The master chuckled and then asked the young man to put a handful of Salt in the lake nearby.

The two walked to the nearby lake. After the apprentice swirled his

Handful of salt into the water, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake.."

As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the master asked, "Now How does this taste?"

"Fresh & Sweet" remarked the apprentice.

"Do you taste the salt?" asked the master.

"No," said the young man.

At this, the master sat beside the young man who so reminded him of Himself at one time and held his hands.

He told the young man, "The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less.

The amount of pain in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in.

So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things . . .

"Stop being a glass. Become a lake."

Think about it

Just had a very trippy dream involving being able to by anything I wanted at a gas station, and I got to eat peanut butter crunch cereal. I am now awake and would pay a hefty sum of money for a bowl of this cereal.

My body hurts from a brutal workout yesterday

Mediocrity

I'll be straightforward and say I cannot stand mediocrity, and people so insecure they feel they need to lie to impress me.

This above all, to thine self be true

Blogging from my phone

That's right I am blogging from my phone directly from the blogger iPhone app! Also, pretty happy to have a Simpsons character of myself ;).

My thought for the day is that in order for something to be truly perfect, the details that no one sees must be perfect as well. That is something I've always enjoyed about new Volkswagen automobiles like the GTI, as well as Mercedes. Though they are great looking on the outside, the details of the interior engine no one sees is crafted perfectly! I've learned this with my magic as well. I can have the most expensive props or a brand new illusion, but if for some reason I have a table that is dirty, or an old prop it takes away from the rest of the stage. The same goes for organization backstage; the parts you don't see - organizing my props, writing scripts etc. need to be perfect as well as the show you see.

I like quality :),
